Polaris RZR 170 Recall

Polaris Industries Issues Safety Bulletins Z-17-05 & Z-17-06 for 2015-16 RZR 170 Youth Vehicles -
July 26, 2017

Polaris has advised customers with 2015-16 RZR 170 vehicles to STOP OPERATION of their vehicle until the recall work has been completed. Polaris will issue safety bulletin notifications to customers, at the address where their vehicle is registered.

What is the purpose of the Z-17-05 Safety bulletin?
Model year 2015-2016 RZR 170 units may have been manufactured with fuel tanks that do not meet Polaris quality standards. As a result, the fuel tank may crack, resulting in a fuel leak. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source may present a fire hazard. To address this condition, Polaris has developed an updated fuel tank that will replace the current tank.

What is the purpose of the Z-17-06 Safety bulletin?
Model year 2015-2017 RZR 170 units may have been manufactured with harnesses that may short to ground with no circuit protection. This has the potential to cause a fire. To address this condition, Polaris has developed a harness kit to add an inline fuse for the un-switched power circuit, and add chaffing protection for the starter cable.
